Basile Management Practice, Inc. is owned and operated by Rob Basile, PE. Rob is a licensed Civil Engineer in Nevada and California, and specializes in design of BMP and water quality improvement projects, specifically in the sensitive environment of the Lake Tahoe region.

Basile Management Practice designs and installs all residential BMP systems, as well as providing landscaping and irrigation design and installation. Photographs of some representative residential BMP and landscaping projects are included below.

Kings Run Condos - Kings Beach, CA
The Kings Run BMP retrofit combined a large detention basin (below right) and several underground infiltration systems (below left). In addition, about 20K square feet of compacted dirt areas were revegetated per TRPA specifications. This project was the winner of the 2009 TRPA “Best in the Basin” award, for best BMP retrofit project.

Basile Management Practices designed infiltration facilities for this site which was extremely space limited. Designs drawings were coordinated with the owner, and directly with TRPA for approval. This project is was constructed by Basile Management Practice during the summer of 2007.

The Village Shopping Center BMP retrofit combined several large vegetated basins and bio-swale infiltration systems. A strong emphasis was put into the revegetation of over 64,000 square feet of compacted dirt areas. In addition, a state of the art stormwater filter vault was designed to treat runoff where infiltration was not cost effective. The vault was installed by Al Pombo Construction based out of Truckee, California. This project was the winner of the 2010 TRPA "Best in the Basin" award, for best BMP retrofit project. Designed stormwater conveyance and infiltration facilities for the commercial BMP retrofit of this West-Shore restaurant and cabins. Designs focused on long-term sustainability, and use of “green” materials. This project was redesigned by Basile Management Practice to disclude the previously specified use of buried plastic, and replace with bio-swale (above right). This design saved money in construction, and produced a more environmentally sustainable project.

Designed conveyance and infiltration facilities for the commercial bmp retrofit. Used a combination of Infiltrator Equalizer, infiltration trenches and a detention basin with specified revegetation. Received TRPA plan approval and coordinated competitive bidding with contractors.

Tahoe Lake Elementary School BMP Project – Tahoe City, CA

Prepared plans and specifications for this erosion control pilot project. A large stormwater detention basin was designed to treat almost 10,000 square feet of impervious surface. The Sierra Watershed Education Partnership (SWEP) and the Tahoe Resource Conservation District (TRCD) were also involved with this project.
