Multifamily Residential Construction Projects
Kings Run Condos - Kings Beach, CA
The Kings Run multi-family residential BMP retrofit combined a large
detention basin and several underground infiltration systems. A strong emphais
was put into the revegetation of over 20K square feet of compacted dirt areas. This project was the
winner of the 2009 TRPA “Best in the Basin” award, for best BMP
retrofit project.
Tyrolian Village Soil Restoration and Revegetation Project – Incline Village, NV
This project was funded by the Tyrolian Village HOA in
order to trade coverage within the property through the Tahoe Regional
Planning Agency (TRPA). Approximately 11,400 square feet of asphalt
pavement was removed and the disturbed area was revegetated per TRPA
specifications. Native species were used in order to minimize the need
for an irrigation system.
Dollar Hill
Condominiums
The Dollar Hill Condos mulit-family residential BMP retrofit combined
a long vegetated bio-swale and several underground infiltration systems. The
bio-swale was a re-design from the originally designed underground plastic
infiltration system. The cost savings with the bio-swale was used towards the
vegetation. Native vegetation included aspens, willows, red-twig dogwoods,
mountain spirea, potentilla and shasta daisies. In addition, an extremely water
efficient drip irrigation system was installed.
The Village Shopping Center - Incline Village, NV

|
The Village Shopping Center BMP retrofit combined several large vegetated basins and bio-swale infiltration systems. A strong emphasis was put into the revegetation of over 64,000 square feet of compacted dirt areas. In addition, a state of the art stormwater filter vault was designed to treat runoff where infiltration was not cost effective. The vault was installed by Al Pombo Construction based out of Truckee, California. This project was the winner of the 2010 TRPA "Best in the Basin" award, for best BMP retrofit project. Please visit this property during an intense rain storm to see the BMP's at work!

Swiss Lakewood BMP Retrofit – Homewood, CA
Designed stormwater conveyance and infiltration facilities
for the commercial BMP retrofit of this West-Shore restaurant and
cabins. Designs focused on long-term sustainability, and use of
“green” materials. This project was redesigned by Basile
Management Practice to disclude the previously specified use of buried
plastic, and replace with bio-swale. This design saved money in
construction, and produced a more environmentally sustainable
project.
Grubstake Lodge – BMP Retrofit Project, Homewood, CA
This project was one of many BMP retrofits in the Lake
Tahoe basin. The full scope of the TRPA ordinance was fulfilled at the
site which included the following: asphalt paving (done by Blacktop
Paving); storm water capture and conveyance with slotted channel
drains; storm water detention and infiltration with rock-lined and
vegetated basins; boulder placement to stop vehicular traffic; and,
revegetation of all bare soil areas on site.
Northstar Resort - Truckee, CA

North Tahoe High School/Middle School – Tahoe City, CA
 |
The North Tahoe High School/Middle School reconstruction
project was completed in 2007. Basile Management Practice completed the
irrigation system and landscaping, as well as the installation of site
furnishings (i.e. benches, flagpole etc). The scope of work also
included the revegetation of all areas disturbed by construction
(approximately 50,000 square feet). This project utilized a seed mix
containing drought tolerant native grass and wildflower species. All
work was completed on time and within budget. |
Tahoe Lake Elementary School BMP Project – Tahoe City, CA
| This pilot project was funded by the Tahoe Resource
Conservation District (TRCD) and the Sierra Watershed Education
Partnership (SWEP) in order to teach students about Best Management
Practices. A stormwater detention basin was constructed to treat almost
10,000 square feet of impervious surface. The project area was
revegetated with native species and an irrigation system was installed. |

Tahoe-Truckee Unified School District - TMO Revegetation Project, Truckee, CA
This project was funded by the TTUSD in order to terminate
an open construction permit through the Lahontan RWQCB. Approximately
8,250 square feet of disturbed area was revegetated per the permit
specifications. Boulders were placed at seven foot intervals to stop
vehicle traffic from compacting the soil and limiting the success of
the revegetation.
Crystal Bay Water Quality Improvement Project Phase 1 – Crystal Bay, NV
This project won the 2008 TRPA Best in the Basin Award for
Erosion Control. Aspen Developers was the general contractor on the job
and Basile Management Practice was a sub for all revegetation included
in the project. The specifications for the project included the seeding
